The PIVO facial and face tracking camera addresses this by offering an automated, hands-free solution. This mount uses your smartphone's camera to detect and track your face, automatically rotating to keep you centred. Its universal smartphone compatibility and adjustable rotation mechanics provide a practical tool for improving video production quality without complex equipment.

Features and Construction

The PIVO mount's functionality is built around its core tracking and movement capabilities, supported by a specific material build. It is designed as a standalone accessory that enhances a smartphone's native camera for specific recording scenarios.

Material and Build

The structural body of the PIVO mount is made from ABS plastic, a common engineering thermoplastic known for its rigidity and impact resistance in consumer electronics. Additional rubber components are incorporated, typically used to provide secure grip points for the smartphone and dampen vibrations during rotation. The external finish is described as matte, which reduces light reflections and provides a subdued aesthetic. The construction focuses on housing the motorised rotation mechanism and providing a stable platform for the phone.

Size and Practical Fit

While exact dimensions are not specified, the design is centred on universal smartphone compatibility. This suggests a clamping or cradle mechanism that can accommodate various phone sizes and models without the need for specific cases or adapters. The key practical fit is the integration between the physical mount and the smartphone's camera software via a dedicated application, which enables the facial tracking algorithm to control the motorised base.

Uses and Placement

The product's value is realised in scenarios where the subject needs to move naturally while remaining the focal point of the video. It bridges the gap between static camera setups and having an assistant operate the camera.

Event or Professional Use

In professional or semi-professional environments, the PIVO can be used for recording product demonstrations, lectures, or fitness classes where the instructor moves around a studio. The ability to set a rotation speed as slow as one lap every two hours allows for ultra-slow panoramic shots or time-lapses, while the faster settings can follow quicker movements. This makes it a versatile tool for creating dynamic content for social media, online courses, or webinar presentations without a camera operator.

Everyday Home Use

For home users, the mount facilitates easier recording of DIY tutorials, crafting videos, or musical performances in a living room or home office. It simplifies the process of recording video calls or virtual meetings where you may need to stand up or reference materials away from your desk. The hands-free aspect is particularly useful for activities like cooking demonstrations or home workout sessions, where your hands are occupied but you still want to maintain engagement with the camera.

Benefits and Buying Value

The PIVO offers value by automating a specific technical aspect of video creation, potentially reducing post-production editing time and increasing production consistency. Its design prioritises a single, clear function over being a multi-purpose device.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

As a mechanical and electronic accessory, its value is tied to repeated use across multiple recording sessions. The use of ABS plastic and rubber in its construction points towards a design intended for regular handling. With no complex consumables or proprietary connections mentioned, the main maintenance consideration would be the longevity of the motor and gears responsible for the 360-degree rotation. Its low-maintenance appeal lies in its set-and-forget operation during use.

Why Choose This Product

You might consider this product if your primary need is for reliable, automated face tracking coupled with smooth camera rotation for smartphone video. Its key differentiator is the combination of these two features in a dedicated mount. The adjustable rotation speed provides creative control, allowing you to tailor the movement to the pace of your content. It serves a specific niche for solo creators looking to add professional-looking camera movement to their videos without investing in more complex motorised sliders or gimbals that may not offer automated subject tracking.

https://auramelt.ivorique.com/products/pivo-facial-and-face-tracking-camera-for-smartphone-with-360-degree-rotation-mount-and-matte-black-abs-plastic-body-designed-for-hands-free-video-recording-and-live-streaming
